Sometimes stupid things happen

Last night, pretty unexpectedly, someone special left our world, and we said goodbye to the boys Mamaw, GACs mother.

I’m certain she’s being escorted around the afterlife as we speak by her daughter, getting shown where the bathrooms are, the bad parts of town, and the choice garden shops.  I’m also certain she’s watching over her precious husband, mother, son and daughter, her hand on their heads, as well as her boys and new girls (she adopted Bell and is very much WeePTs third grandmother).   The boys know this, they’ve done it before, but it doesn’t make the loss hurt less.

Right now, it feels, to use Pigpens words, like a bad joke.  Friday we’ll have a memorial at the funeral home, and by then we’ll all know that we’re sharing a world without Mamaw, but also a sky with a new star.

I love you, Mamaw.  Godspeed.

Rocky Baby Haiku

Lil one wants to play.
Too many exciting things.
But it is bedtime.

Head is so sweaty.
A sure sign that she’s sleepy.
She is fighting it.

I already tried.
It isnt working tonight.
Had to hand her off.

Small pats on her back.
Soft humming, sweet baby songs.
Daddy rocks baby.

Cancuns…meets WeePT

Before the baby was born, we frequented the local Cancuns…a lot. I’d say we were pretty close to “regulars.”

Then I got pregnant. Not too many bad pregnancy symptoms…but the one I did have, ruled out ever going back to Cancuns (it was the only thing my stomach completely rejected)…much to the demise of AT. He loves Cancuns.

Anyway…a little over a year later, we are back. Margaritas and salsa. Yum.

WeePT is sitting in her high chair…talking as loud as she can to overcome the volume of the karioke.
…and the waiter sets down a refill on the salsa and chips…a little too close to little fingers.

Yep… Shes been salsa-fied.

Now shes one socked.
And looooving it. :)

9 mos checkup

WeePT had her 9mos checkup today. Ears are all better from ear infection two weeks ago. Other than the temper-tantrum she threw when the doctor took her, she did really good. No shots today.

They pricked her finger to check her blood for lead and to check her iron levels. She didnt even cry! She tested all clear for lead and anemia. Yay!

Height- 27 3/4 inches (60%)
Weight- 19.2 lbs (60%)..yep, shes chunked right up!
Head- 46 1/2cm (97%)…hmm..AT and his big headed kiddos :)

Like an orange on a toothpick :)

And we dont go back until her 1st birthday. Wow. This is going fast.

Move over, Cheerios

Wee PT has a new favorite food.
Cheddar cheese.

Though to be fair…she followed up her cheese bits with some Cheerios…so, they are still in the club.

Do you like pancakes?

This Saturday, have Pigpen serve you pancakes!  Whats better than that?

If you’re in Oak Ridge between now and Saturday, ping me to make arrangements with the boy to trade your money for his ticket.

Good times, people, good times.

The case of the van windows

So today when I was taking off to pick up the boys, I noticed that the front windows of the still unnamed minivan were completely down.

Really?

This thing was last driven last night.  It was 45 degrees.  The windows never went down.  In fact, other than drive through window negotiations, the windows never go down.

So why were they down today?

My conclusion?

That suckers haunted.

Anyway, now my butt is wet.

Sock haiku

Where did my socks go?
I used to have lots of them
So like what happened?

Think its a gremlin
Or some sort of poltergeist
That likes white tube socks

Internet blackout day?

Howdy folks,

So, um, we’re doing the internet one better in their protest of the SOPA/PIPA thing by having a blackout week.

Yes.

This was completely and totally a conscious decision on our parts.

Totally

But seriously, check out this video for more info on what Congress is proposing, and how it will screw things up

So like, totally, once we’re dong all protesting and stuff, we’ll tell you about how we’re feeling better and stuff like that.
